I am going to start this off by telling you that my favorite sport is basketball and it always has been. I fell in love with the game when I was a little girl at the age of 4 watching the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots girls basketball team. Those girls playing were like celebrities to me. My first chance of ever starting to play basketball was in 5th and 6th grade basketball. To be honest, we were a pretty stellar group of players! Playing with the same group of girls my whole life has been a huge privilege. I go to a high school of about 80 kids altogether. This is a huge advantage in my eyes because you are so close with everyone and it makes it that much easier to be close with your teammates. We have lost some players and gained some players along the way, but it is what it is. There's not much you can do about it because people have their reasons. Sometimes it is hard for me to understand that people don't love basketball as much as me. :) I have a high goal of making it to the state tournament next year. Ever since I started playing as a little girl that has been my goal because honestly, I can't imagine a greater feeling than playing in a state tournament. Basketball started this week and I am so, so sore, but it is all worth it. I thrive through the pain that my muscles bring because I know the results that come out of the hard work that we are doing as a team. I love being in shape, but I hate getting in shape. Sometimes all it takes is a little hard work because it can take you a long way. I am looking forward to what this season brings the Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriot Basketball Team. :)
